Why do our leaders think that the Afghanistan war will go similar to Iraq's war, they are extremely different?

Why is it not clear at the highest levels that the Afghanistan war and the Iraq war are two extremely different wars?

|||my question is why are we even there when there is a lot of evidence that 9-11 was an inside job. the day of 9-11 we had less than 20 aircraft protecting our entire nation due to 2 phony exercises and I am praying that Obama will open up a review of the entire situation. Those buildings had help coming down. bomb sniffing dogs were strangely removed from the twin towers before the attack. The Mayor of San Francisco was even given a warning not to fly on the very day of the attack.
