How did the civil war impact the north and south politically?

how did the north and south change politically before the war and after the war? any help is greatly appreciated! also if you could site where you got the information that would be helpful! thank you!|||The biggest change was in education whereas students were required to do their own homework and not rely on easy online sources.|||During Reconstruction, Southern Congressmen were pretty much barred from Congress with contempt, but over time, as Reconstruction continued, they were allowed back in.

Slaves- FORMER slaves, no had the right to vote and had freedom- if you wanted to call it that. But because of the Jim Crow Laws and sharecropping and other limitations, they had basically no power. They were forced to live in poverty for decades afterwards.

Racism still persisted in the south. The country managed to heal over time and soon with the Industrial Age continuing to advance, factories and such moved southward especially after Grant and Sherman had conducted total war on the south, burning whatever cotton craps that existed.

The country, now, is much more unified.
