What World War One movie featured a captured Allied soldier and his attempts to escape?

I recall once seeing a movie on tv about world war one. The main character was captured and then the film progressed to him in a POW camp. I believed it went from there to conical his escape attempt. I think the main character might have been played by Brendan Fraser. Anyone have any Idea I might have watched?|||i know only one movie that made by a man to escape from a german prison and thats 'the great escape' in 6o's film
