How did the civil war impact the north and south?

How was the economy of the north and south impacted after the civil war, I know they were both impacted differently. How does the economy of the north and south change from before the war and after the war. any help is greatly appreciated, also if you could site where you got the information that would be awesome!!! :D|||Before the war, the south was doing economically amazing. But during the war, things kept getting worse until the end. The north basically threw them off the deep end, making them fend for themselves when there was nothing to fend off of. No food, no money, nothing. Slowly it built itself back up. Now that's something they never taught me in history class.
