War???????????

OK I WAS WONDERING HOW DO YOU DEFINE WAR. BECAUSE IVE HEARD SEVERAL PEOPLE SAYING IRAQ IS NOT CLASSIFIED AS A WAR.|||In the United States, war is declared by Congress against another nation. If Congress has not declared war against another nation, then we're not *technically* at war. What's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to that definition as well as according to the military's own definition, is a "Stability %26amp; Support Operation", or SASO (sometimes also referred to "Military Operation Other Than Warfare, or MOOTW). We're not fighting Iraq; Iraq's government and its military are our allies. The same can be said for Afghanistan. Who we're fighting in both countries is a mix of former regime elements, homegrown insurgents, sectarian militias, terror cells of Al Qaeda and other affiliated or non-affiliated terror groups, and foreign fighters. None of those constitutes a legitimate government or legitimate military.|||Yes, many classify a war as being against an army, thus Saddam's Army being defeated was the end to the war. But those same people use the term War on Terror a lot, so go figure. For me, it is any large scale military conflict where you are considered an enemy by one of the groups.|||There is no war in Iraq because war was not declared. THe last war we fought was WW2.|||Iraq was a war, also including Afghanistan. War is an armed conflict between 2 or more countries, involving a unprovoked attack on one of the countries involved|||War is usually defined between two country's, in Iraq there was a "war" with Saddam (Iraq), since 2003 there are battles going on with Insurgents, not a war with Iraq!|||"War is Hell". War is achieved when violence is imposed upon another to fight for or in defense of anything.|||Trust Me, Iraq is a War Zone|||War is when two groups of peaple go out with weopeans and kill each other.|||"War, it's fantastic"

A quote from the movie Hot Shots Part Deux"

Loved that movie.
